Information about the plans of the terrorist organization Islamic State (EI) found themselves in possession of the magazine Il Tempo. The Vatican announcement did not fear the attack of extremists. According to the journalists of Il Tempo, information on preparing an attack against the pope was forwarded by their representatives of Israeli intelligence. 

Based on these data, the IE has the intention to challenge Al Qaeda in surpassing the cruelty of the attacks. Extremists and preparing to commit attacks in Europe and in this sense, the papacy is a logical target since the EI considers "bearer of lies".

The choice of Pope Francis as target also makes sense because the head of the Church has pronounced in recent weeks, several harsh statements on the fundamentalists. The pontificate called for eliminating EI by arms, which is very atypical for the rhetoric of the Vatican, even to the most radical political forces. The Italian press, referring to the local intelligence services, discusses the activities of extremist Muslims from Bosnia. She fears that the representatives of the diaspora and the people they have "converted" to be able to participate in the attacks. In August, the Islamic fundamentalist Bosnic Bilal, who has long lived in Italy before joining the IU, confirmed the basis for these suspicions. "We Muslims believe that one day the whole world will become an Islamic state. Our goal is to ensure that even the Vatican became Muslim. According to Islamic standards, it is permissible to kill a prisoner if it can scare the enemy," said the extremist.
